Angie Scott – County Councillor for Prudhoe North
I have lived in Prudhoe for my entire life, bringing up my family and helping residents in my roles as County Councillor for Prudhoe North and Prudhoe Town Councillor for West Wylam. I am well known in the town and have tried to make a difference to the lives of Prudhoe’s people. I have done this by working with local charities, groups, listening to residents supporting them through the cost of living crisis.
I have worked for the NHS for over 20 years, during the first 10 years I specialised in the care of people with Learning Disabilities and mental health issues at Prudhoe Hospital. I now work as a Registered Nurse Associate.
Angie’s Priorities
- To improve the health of our community by reducing isolation, safeguarding the vulnerable, ensuring right services at right time to those who most need it and making Prudhoe an environmentally heathy place to live.
- To improve the economic development of Prudhoe through investment in the sustainability of our Town Centre and diversification of the Front Street which will bring people to Prudhoe. Encouraging the start-up of new businesses and marketing employers to move to Prudhoe as a vibrant place to do business.
- To improve opportunities for our children and young people; the young people of Prudhoe are our future. We need to increase opportunities for personal and skill development, careers advice, work experience and apprenticeships as well as having fun
Everyone who lives in Prudhoe knows that it is a special place with stunning scenery, warm and friendly people, great businesses and a welcoming community. We have so much to be proud of – the local shops and businesses who have kept going for us despite difficulties; our town identity and heritage; our green spaces and our enhanced sense of community. But there are many challenges in Prudhoe, and I will never shy away from highlighting them or campaigning to improve our community.
